Lookpost (a bit of a throwback)

It's almost Spring! And this is a collaboration I did last year with my photographer friend Lindsay. Dugaries x flowercrowns are sure to make a comeback this Summer and Spring, looking forward to festivals and longer days. x

Art x Hair

Check out this brilliant braid & Hair painting by Soo Yoon Lym. The Korean born artist lived in Uganda for seven years and when she was 15 she made a life changing decision by studying with Korean exiled painter, Ung No Lee in Normandy, France. She says it was then that she discovered that summer how "art was inextricably tied to nature and my life."
I love how lifelike her paintings are and how they take something that for black woman is simple and mundane and makes it look so artistic. It's a really special exhibition and it really urged me to take pride in my African locs.

a little bit of this and a whole lot of that

It has taken quite sometime for me to gather up the confidence to share my music as it is a very personal thing but more than that because I have sort of neglected it and I feel that maybe it is high time that anyone who ready my blog got a little sense of what I do sometimes when I'm bored. So feast your ears, any up and coming musos and writers out there want to share theirs? I would be so keen to hear.

Black and white x VSCO

I not so recently discovered the wonderful app that is VSCO cam for android phones and I am admittedly not very techno savvy but I love how pictures can be transformed with this app. I have my own camera and on some days I like to take pictures when I am feeling a littls insoired. My favourite kinds of pictures are black and white ones, I love the retro feel. Here are some of the pictures that can be found on my instagram feed.

Grahamstown National Arts Festival 2014: Faces

I have been so busy trying to piece my life together and grow that I have neglected my blogging so I thought it would be nice that I share a few snaps that I took this past week. These are some of the interesting and stylish looking people that attended the festival which boasted in music, art, performance and theatre as well as a range of clothing stalls and delicious food markets. Besides that, I have some interesting projects lined up in the next couple of months so keep your eyes on the blog.
